Pelicans are such a great symbol for most tourists when they come to Florida, everybody wants to get a picture of one. They are a kind of comical bird as they waddle down a pier asking for a hand out from any fisherman willing to feed them. This painting shows them in the their winter plumage with the yellow top feathers and white neck. In the summer the yellow area changes to white and the neck is actually divided vertically into brown and white.
